Starting from the social responsibility of the private sector in Dubai and in the framework of support for charity & humanitarian work in UAE, Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai renewed the annual venue sponsorship for Emirates Down Syndrome Association’s activities and events for the sixth consecutive year of continued support for its programs.

This came through the hotel management with the signature of the memorandum of understanding, which was attended by H.E. Sonia Ahmed Al-Hashimi, EDSA’s Chairperson and Goodwill Ambassador for Childhood, Dr. Manal Jarour, Vice President and Ms. Nawal Hajj Nasser Abdullah Al Nasser, Board Member, Financial Manager, Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Dabal, Board Member and Mr. Ahmed Shahin, Executive Manager. From Shangri-La Hotel, Mr. Gerhard Hecker, Hotel General Manager, Mr. Imtiaz Bashir, Financial Manager and Mr. Laurent Bourgeois, Hotel Manager.

Ms. Al-Hashimi said; We thank the hotel management for their sixth consecutive annual venue sponsorship and the association’s ceremonies, that  highlights the strength of institutional partnerships between the association and the private sector in Dubai, which shows a  great importance to the care and support of social responsibility programs and the association’s  efforts to accomplish the slogan launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council that Dubai is a friendly City for all and for disabled people.
After signing the memorandum of understanding, The EDSA’s Chairperson revealed the services provided by Shangri-La Hotel upon the MoU terms such as providing a structured training program for people with Down syndrome for three months at the Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai from January 1st until the end of December and assisting with occupational opportunity within the hotel after the completion of training together with some other services that serve people with Down syndrome and their families and support the association achieve progress and success.
