There is no doubt that people with Down’s Syndrome have lower capacity than their peers but early intervention programs are a significant help in developing these capacities.
Often, a child with Down’s Syndrome is able to walk and lead a relatively normal daily life at an early age. These children have a social life similar to their peers and like them, estabish personal interests and friendships. In fact, most love art and music with many talented individuals excelling in both. With support, encouragement and regular participation, these skills can be developed through the various habilitation programs offered by the UAE Down’s Syndrome Association. By investing time and effort in developing the abilities of people with Down’s Syndrome, we help them achieve educational, social and vocational independence, enabling them to play a role in the community reflecting their abilities and individual potential.
